Album Review: Verena von Horsten’s Alien Angel Super Death

verena von horsten

In her new album Alien Angel Super Death, solo artist and multi-instrumentalist Verena von Horsten tackles the difficult topic of her brother’s suicide.  The ten synth-rock tracks are dark but still strangely catchy — especially for such a depressing topic.  “Fire” and “The Believer” will definitely be stuck in your head.

Working out of New York City and Zurich, Switzerland, von Horsten’s brand of electronica exudes an international, “super-cool but not too-cool” vibe.  Fans of David Bowie and Lady Gaga will enjoy Alien Angel Super Death.
